As technology advances, economic conditions change, and the average human lifespan increases, the idea of traditional retirement is being challenged in many directions. I see it all the time: people re-entering the workforce in search of a new challenge or to reconnect with others socially. In a world where we could soon see more people living into their hundreds, is it reasonable to expect that people will quit working at 65?
To help me sort through the shifting landscape, I invited Alan Patricof onto Celebrations Chatter. As a pioneer of venture capital, Alan has been at the forefront of every technical and social revolution of the past 60 years. At 89, Alan is newly married, recently completed his fifth marathon, and written and released his first book, “No Red Lights.” With his commitment to longevity and living life to the fullest, Alan is a shining example of what is possible for our increasingly ageless population, and someone who I deeply admire. It was an honor to discuss this topic (and many more) with him, and I look forward to sharing many more conversations with him.
